If you're ever caught on the street with nothing to eat and not a lot of money, don't worry you're in Germany! When you want something cheap, find a bakery and walk in. German bakeries are almost cafes because of the variety of food that they have. All will sell bread and assorted desserts. If you are in northern Germany or near a sea, the bakeries will sell fischbrötchen which are little fish sandwiches and are delicious! I would recommend eating one with Backfisch if you don't like fish bones. Bakeries in Germany also have different types of sandwiches and delicious bread. If you don't feel like eating in a bakery, you can find an Imbiss or a snack stand which sells curry wurst or döner which are both delicious and cheap but classic German food. You can also check out Hai or Mai Mai which are both Asian restaurants that are fast and quite cheap. Nordfisch is a fish fast food restaurant that normally has fast service and always has good food. Pommes Glück is a fast food place that just sells fires, but you get almost twice as many fries as you do at McDonalds for the same price.
